Tidy Towns Tips - Textile Recycling

Textile Recycling

There is an alarming increase in the number incidents of abuse of textile recycling banks throughout the county. Bags of household waste are often found inside the banks, some of the worst instances have involved rotting fish and meat being dumped in the clothes banks. These cases have resulted in clothes being destroyed and is a disgraceful abuse of the recycling facilities provided. These clothes are collected by a charitable organisation and the continued abuse of these facilities is hampering this worthy cause.

If clothes are in good condition they may also be brought to a charity shop it is important that they are clean and are suitable for reuse.
