Tidy Towns Tips - End Of Life Vehicles

End Of Life Vehicles

New Regulations on End Of Life Vehicles (ELV’S) came into action on the 1st January 2007. The new regulations are based on Producer Responsibility and will increase the recovery and recycling of cars.

What you need to know!

  • If you are the registered owner of a car and wish to dispose of that car as a waste then you can bring it to an A.T.F free of charge.
  • An A.T.F. is an Authorised Treatment Facility that is licensed to dismantle, treat and recover E.L.V.’s in a way that does not cause environmental pollution.
  • The A.T.F will provide the registered owner with a Certificate of Destruction for the End of Life Vehicle.

  • For more detailed information call the Environment Section of Donegal County Council @ 074 91 72538.
